ECI Group has broken ground on its latest residential project in the Atlanta metro area. Alongside joint venture partner The Griffin Fund, the firm begun construction on The Averly Collins Hill, a 300-unit community which is due to be online in late 2025. The joint venture tapped ECI Construction as the general contractor. Synovus provided a $46 million construction loan for the project.
The garden-style apartment development will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom units averaging 938 square feet. The units will be spread across eight three-story buildings and will be built with quartz countertops, walk-in closets, stainless steel appliances, full-size washers and dryers and a private porches or balconies. The community’s amenities will include a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse, fitness center, remote work area, dog play area, swimming pool and coffee bar.
Located at 700 Collins Road, the property is near a shopping center anchored by a Walmart Supercenter. The community is a short commute from the area’s major employers like Northside Hospital Gwinnett and Georgia Gwinnett College.
ECI Group’s community will be part of the larger Lawrenceville Gateway project, which is expected to include a planned active adult housing community and a retail component. According to ECI Group, The Averly Collins Hill will deliver around the same time as the nearby 15-story Northside Hospital Gwinnett tower that’s expected to bring more than 3,000 jobs to the area.
Developing in the Atlanta metro
Prior to The Averly Collins Hill, ECI Group and The Griffin Fund partnered to develop The Corwyn Conyers apartment community in Conyers, Ga. The joint venture is currently in the process of leasing up the 300-unit community that’s less than a half-hour commute to downtown Atlanta.
ECI Group is also expecting to deliver the first units of Averly East Village in Roswell, Ga., later this year. ECI Group has built up a portfolio that includes more than 7,500 units located throughout the southeastern U.S, including in Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana.
