Trilogy Real Estate Group has welcomed the first residents to its recently completed community in Hopkins, Minn. The developer completed the first phase of The Hallon after starting construction on the community in the fourth quarter of 2021, Jesse Karasik, CIO of Trilogy Real Estate Group, told Multi-Housing News. Trilogy Real Estate tapped Kraus-Anderson as the project’s general contractor and ESG Architecture and Design as architects.
The first phase of The Hallon offers 219 units in one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans ranging from 490 to 1,022 square feet. Some units are available as one- and two-bed townhouses. The units were designed with in-home washers and dryers, keyless entry and smart thermostats, and, in select units, private patios or balconies. Community amenities include a pool, hot tub, pet spa, sports simulator room, speakeasy lounge, grilling pavilion, fire pit, fitness studio, library, conference room, coffee bar, package acceptance system and coworking spaces, as well as bicycle storage and electric vehicle charging stations. As a mixed-use community, The Hallon also includes 2,000 square feet of retail space.
Located at 8594 Excelsior Blvd., the community has nearby access to Interstate 169, providing residents with an approximately 15-minute commute to downtown Minneapolis. Residents will have easy access to the area’s major employers, which include General Mills, United Healthcare and Target. For those looking for public transportation, the community will be near the Metro Green Line Extension that is expected to start passenger service in 2027. Kariski told MHN that the community has seen a promising amount of attention and interest and that Trilogy Real Estate has already leased out 15 percent of The Hallon.
Two more phases planned
With the first phase of The Hallon complete, Trilogy already has the second and third phases scheduled. The second phase will focus on a health and wellness building that will have a spa-like atmosphere and 250 units, Karasik told MHN. Karasik also told MHN that the second phase is expected to open in the third quarter of 2024, with the third phase to follow and offer an additional 300 units.
Along with The Hallon’s first phase opening, Karasik told MHN that the firm is focusing on its handful of recent Minnesota community openings, including The Aurilla in Cottage Grove, Westlyn in West St. Paul, The Lodge at Overland in Rochester and The Bohen in uptown Minneapolis. Earlier this month, Trilogy Real Estate opened The Lodge at Overland and its 237 units after first starting construction in March 2022.
