Harbert South Bay Partners, a subsidiary of Harbert Management Corp., will soon start construction on The James, a 350-unit luxury senior living community in Irvine, Calif. The property is slated to open in early 2024, with full occupancy expected in the summer of 2025.
The James will be the first new senior living community in Irvine in more than 20 years. Yardi Matrix information shows that over the past decade, a total of 15 age-restricted properties have been delivered throughout all of Orange County, encompassing 2,622 units.
Upon completion, the eight-story building will incorporate 210 independent living, 110 assisted living and 30 memory care units. The outdoor space was designed to include gathering areas, courtyards, a koi pond and walking paths. Momentum Senior Living will provide management and operational services.
Located at 16542 Millikan Ave., the 3-acre site is across from The District at Tustin Legacy, which provides various dining and entertainment options. Numerous other retail locations are also within walking distance. The parcel is close to Interstate 405 and less than 4 miles from the John Wayne Airport.
