Sonata Senior Living has opened Sonata Lake Mary, a 193-unit senior living community in Lake Mary, Fla. WPC, the general constructor, and capital partner Berkshire Residential were present at the official opening.
The 250,000-square-foot senior living facility incorporates one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging between 387 and 1,518 square feet. Apartment amenities include washers and dryers, walk-in showers with safety features, full-size kitchens with appliances and private balconies.
The community offers a swimming pool, a wellness center, a fitness center, a golf simulation studio, a movie theatre, a game room and arts rooms, a library and a technology lab, a dog park and outdoor recreation areas.
The resort-style retirement community provides services such as personal and supplemental care, wellness services, dementia certified caregivers, scheduled transportation, home maintenance and upkeep, chef-prepared dining, as well as 24-hour staff and security.
Sonata Lake Mary is located at 410 Caring Drive, placing it approximately 18 miles north of Orlando. The community is close to Interstate 4, which provides direct access to downtown Orlando. Several retail centers, dining options and green areas are close to the property.
A $750 million project near Orlando
The $62 million senior housing property is part of the Lake Mary Wellness and Technology Park mixed-use development, a 153-acre, project with a total price tag estimated at $750 million. The master site plan was developed by KPM Franklin. The project includes the development of five sites, which will feature multifamily residences, townhomes, hospitality, health-care and office space.
Orlando Health is preparing to break ground on a $500 million medical center located within the master-planned area, while Highgate Hotels purchased a 2.7-acre site for the construction of a Home2Suites by Hilton, as reported by Florida YIMBY.
