Episcopal Communities & Services has broken ground on the second and final phase of MonteCedro, a luxury senior housing community in Altadena, Calif. C.W. Driver Cos. is the general contractor, while Perkins Eastman serves as the project’s main architect.
The $56 million, 101,862-square-foot phase will create 40 independent living units across four villa-style buildings. Completion is slated for 2025.
The MonteCedro community will feature a below-grade parking garage, gathering spaces, barbecue grills, an event lawn for entertainment programs, a dog park and resident gardens.
The project also includes interior upgrades of roughly 10,000 square feet to the existing Phase I. The renovations will optimize the amenities and primary public spaces on the ground level.
Completed in 2015, Phase I incorporates one- and two-bedroom floorplans ranging between 750 and 1,895 square feet. Common-area amenities include a swimming pool, a fitness center, an art studio, a game room, a theater, a library and a spa. The property also offers 24/h emergency response system, 24/h licensed professionals, housekeeping services, transportation and controlled access.
Located at 2212 El Molino Ave., MonteCedro sits in an area with several dining options, retail centers and green spaces. The site is near Interstate 210, which provides easy access across the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.
