Havenpark Communities has invested $1.9 million in capital improvements at River’s Edge, a manufactured housing community in Clinton Township, Mich. Since purchasing the property three years ago, the company has invested some $12 million in upgrades and has added more than 500 new homes. Today, River’s Edge includes 958 mobile homes, up from 450 in August 2020.
The $1.9 million investment this year resulted in upgraded roads and sidewalks, a new playground area and landscaping, but part of the money also went toward converting a recreation center into an educational facility and supporting the community’s social events. The learning center will be hosting online tutoring, seminars with local community colleges’ representatives and coursework.
Last year, Havenpark Communities spent $35 million on upgrades at properties across its portfolio, and also added 870 new manufactured homes. Havenpark CEO & Co-Founder Robbie Pratt said in prepared remarks that the company’s recent investments are on par with its commitment to improve the resident experience. Furthermore, the owner-operator intends to continue adding to the affordable housing stock as part of its strategy to provide more affordable homeownership opportunities.
