Core Spaces has delivered Hub Atlanta, a 792-bed student housing community in Midtown Atlanta. Students have just moved in for the 2023-2024 school year, and leasing is now open for next year.
Core’s design team together with Curioso provided interior design services. Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture served as the architect, while Juneau Construction Co. was the general contractor. Core Spaces will manage the property.
Hub Atlanta features 292 studio, one-, two-, three-, four-, five- and six-bedroom units ranging from 385 to 1,913 square feet. Located at 960 Spring St., near the Georgia Institute of Technology campus and Georgia State University, the 19-story building includes the following amenities:
- fitness center
- spa with sauna
- coworking spaces
- outdoor study area
- private study lounges
- rooftop pool deck with hot tub
- built-in seating and outdoor lounge with barbecue area
- dog park
Additionally, Hub Atlanta offers a four-story parking garage and 6,990 square feet of ground-floor retail space with New Here Coffee operating the coffee shop. The 405,947-square-foot property, which broke ground two years ago, was built on two former low-rise commercial buildings that were home to indoor-outdoor nightclub Alibi Atlanta and Opium Lounge. According to Yardi Matrix data, Georgia Institute of Technology was among the top 20 universities with the most beds underway, having 2,829 beds under construction as of May.
Earlier in August, Core Spaces together with Schenk Realty and Kayne Anderson Realty have closed on a $233.3 million construction loan to finance Hub Knoxville, a nearly 2,000-bed student housing property in Knoxville, Tenn.
