Embrey is developing a new project in Charlotte, N.C., with plans to break ground in mid-October. The North Tryon community will open its first residential units and its clubhouse in the third quarter of 2025, with the property expected to be fully complete in 2026.
The 403-unit community will offer studio and one- and two-bedroom floorplans. Amenities will include a clubhouse, game room, business center, conference room, fitness studio and yoga room, as well as an outdoor gas fireplace, courtyard, pool and outdoor grilling areas.
Located at 3035 N. Tryon St., the community is near Charlotte’s historic NoDa district, which features many cultural and entertainment options. Residents will be less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Charlotte. The nearby 36 Street Stop for the LYNX Blue Line light rail will also connect residents to the city center and offers access to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Fourth Charlotte project
For Embrey, North Tryon represents the company’s fourth project in the Charlotte metro. The other three communities are under construction. In August, Embrey acquired 12 acres of land in the Huntersville suburb of Charlotte, which will be the site of a new 291-unit community, Heartwood at Vermillion. The company is also working on Finley on the Green, a 343-unit community in Charlotte’s University City neighborhood, after acquiring the land for the project in November 2022. Rounding out the Charlotte portfolio is Southerly at LoSo, a 403-unit community that is expected to start leasing in 2025.
Overall, Embrey currently has more than 6,000 units under construction or in its development pipeline. Based in San Antonio, the company develops, acquires, builds and manages multifamily assets in several target markets across the U.S. Embrey has been expanding its development presence in Denver as well, most recently announcing plans to develop a 354-unit community in Lakewood, Colo.
