Nelson Construction & Development has completed The Woodlands at Canterfield, a 131-unit senior housing community in West Dundee, Ill. The developer broke ground on the project in 2021. McShane Construction served as general contractor and AG Architecture as main architect, with RDG Planning and Design providing interior design services.
The community comprises 91 assisted living units and 40 memory care units with one- and two-bedroom floorplans ranging between 363 and 926 square feet.
The 16,000-square-foot amenity space includes a fitness center, a theatre, two spas, a bocce ball court, clubrooms, a putting green, on-site restaurants, outdoor lounge areas with fireplaces and around 90 parking spaces. In addition, the LEED Silver-certified property features enhanced HVAC systems, upgraded air filtration and touchless technology.
Located at 901 Angle Tarn on a 9-acre site, The Woodlands at Canterfield is near Interstate 90, which provides direct access to downtown Chicago. Advocate Sherman Hospital, Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary and an abundance of dining options are within a 3-mile radius.
McShane Construction, alongside developers Calamos Real Estate and Lincoln Property Co., has recently completed a 285-unit luxury community in Naperville, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. The company was also selected by The Integral Group this April to develop a 100-unit affordable senior living project in Atlanta’s suburb of Doraville, Ga.
