LD&D will break ground on the residential portion of its Cass Square mixed-use development in downtown Tampa this summer. The 28-story luxury multifamily tower, DoMo at Cass Square, is expected to be the tallest residential tower in the area, a representative of LD&D told Multi-Housing News.
The developer acquired the two-acre project site for $10 million in April 2023, tapping Coastal Construction Group as the general contractor on the project and Baker Barrios Architects to design the project.
The community will offer 360 units in studio and one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans averaging approximately 800 square feet. Community amenities will include a wellness area, pickleball court, screening room, hosting kitchen, gym and sky lounge, as well as a 586-space parking podium. DoMo at Cass Square will also include 32,500 square feet of ground-floor retail, as well as a pedestrian paseo that connects the community to other portions of the mixed-use development.
The larger Cass Square project will include retail space and a 10-story, 178-key Element by Westin hotel. LD&D is working with Dynamic Group on the hospitality portion of the project, which is scheduled to break ground in the fourth quarter of this year.
Multiple Miami projects
Besides DoMo at Cass Square, LD&D has several other projects in its development pipeline. The firm has 1.25 million square feet over 1,100 residential and hotel units in the works. The Miami-based design firm’s projects are mostly located in New York City and Florida.
LD&D plans to break ground on the 253-unit Gallery Haus mixed-use development in St. Petersburg, Fla., later this year. The 23-story mixed-use development will offer ground-floor retail space and amenities like coworking areas. The firm is also constructing the 20-story Wynwood Haus property, which will offer 224 luxury units in Miami.
