Duquesne University, in partnership with Harrison Street and Radnor Property Group, has announced plans to develop a new 556-bed student apartment community on Forbes Ave. in Pittsburgh, Pa. Construction began late this year on the property located next to the University Power Center. The 11-story, 216-apartment-unit housing project will accommodate upper class and graduate students. First occupancies will begin in the autumn of 2024.
Outdoor courtyards accessible by residents, Duquesne students and the greater community are among the highlights of the building’s amenity offerings.
Third project
This will be the third on-campus housing development resulting from the public-private partnership of Duquesne University, Harrison Street and Radnor Property Group.
Previous projects were the modernization of Brottier Hall and the renovation of St. Martin Hall, both completed this year.
The partners expect the new student housing community to earn a LEED Silver rating.
Two months ago, Harrison Street teamed up with Trinitas Ventures to develop four new Class A student housing facilities near universities in the Midwest and Southeast U.S.
